The StarTalk forum was conceived from Sheila Minard's friendship with Maurice White and her desire to support him through his battle with Parkinson's disease.

The words that come to mind when I created StarTalk are: love, caring, support, sharing, action, healing, staying healthy, spiritual growth, togetherness, and -- most importantly -- family.

While Maurice was going through his symptoms of Parkinson's disease, I wanted to support him by showing him how much he was missed by people from around the world; how he continues to be respected and cared about. From that desire came this support group/message board -- our StarTalk family.

I literally watched as Maurice was healed on so many levels when he read messages filled with prayers, blessings, and gratitude for him; how our members told of how he had touched them through his music and changed their lives for the better, helping to heal them of their own troubles.

Through that very same selflessness, StarTalk has become an amazing learning experience for everyone involved and it's just the beginning -- like being reborn.

Thanks to all of you who have participated on StarTalk -- your messages, lessons, and wisdom will always be in our hearts and souls forever.

Sheila has been involved with support groups since she arrived in LA. In 1978, Sheila was hired as the vice president of ADOCTORINYOURHOUSE.COM (which later became Spotlight Health Care) where she started and maintained support groups for such well known people as Carnie Wilson, Larry King, Naomi Judd, Stephanie Powers, Loni Anderson, Roger Moore, Denise Austin, Mackenzie Phillips, Barbara Nivens, Pat Boone, Jill Eikenberry, Kathy Ireland, John Stossel, and, of course, Maurice White, as well as many others.
